Verifying the Sender

displays the verification information at the bottom of the message window. The verification information helps you ensure that the message has not been altered in any way.

To verify that the message has not been altered:

1. In the File menu, click Open and select the file you want to verify.
2. Click the Message icon .
3. At this point, Encrypted Mail Reader checks to see if the certificate is valid:
   • If the certificate is invalid, the pink verification bar appears at the bottom of the message. Click the More Info button on the pink verification bar.

   • If the certificate is valid, the green verification bar appears at the bottom of the message. Click the More Info button on the green verification bar.

4. The View Certificate window appears. Click OK.
